  • Building Occupant Warning System BOWS is an audio warning designed to alert occupants of a fire emergency. It is typically activated by a fire detection system and or sprinkler system.

  • Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System EWIS initiates the quick evacuation of a building after the fire alarm system is activated and provides dedicated telephone communication between the master emergency control panel and fire warden intercommunication points. Used for multi-storey buildings and hospitals.

  • Smoke and heat detectors are connected to a fire panel and are designed to activate other fire protection measures (including fire warning systems BOWS and EWIS when they detect smoke. Used for residential apartment buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, hospitals and schools.

  • Smoke alarms detect smoke and sound an alarm. They are mandated for all residential buildings in NSW. They are used in residential homes and within SOU's (sole Occupancy Units) and within apartments
