Fire Orders

Got a fire order? We can help.

Making your building compliant once a Fire Order is issued

Local councils will issue a Fire Order (30 days after issuing notice of intention to issue a fire order) if they deem the level of fire safety in a building is inadequate.

If you’ve received a Fire Order, do not ignore it as substantial fines can be issued. In extreme circumstances, council can issue a notice to vacate the building.

We can carry out rectification work or fire safety upgrades to ensure your building complies with the fire order and relevant regulations, Australian standards and BCA.

In some cases we will also be involved in fire engineering where a DTS (deemed to satisfy) BCA option is not practical with the assistance of a C10 fire engineer.

We can negotiate with council for a successful resolution of your fire order

Dragon Fire Services can help you with the expert advice and guidance you need to navigate the process when a Fire Order has been issued.

We can review your notice of intent and negotiate with council the terms of the order, including the compliance period, if you believe they are unreasonable.

It is important to act early and address the issues deemed critical as quickly as possible.

Commission a fire safety audit to address the fire order or potential future fire order

Our fire safety experts can inspect and test your building’s fire protection systems to ensure they comply with current building codes and standards. Our strategic fire safety report will provide recommendations to mitigate your fire risk and protect your premises and its occupants. It’s the ideal way to work through a Fire Order or to avoid having a fire order issued if the work is undertaken voluntarily.
